Who: All health care professionals, medical, premedical, and high-school students
What: SNMA Region VII Annual Regional Medical Education Conference
Where: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine
263 Farmington Avenue
Farmington, CT 06030
When: November 12, 2011
Conference Workshops from 9am to 6pm, followed by dinner
Why: In the past year under the "Affordable Care Act (ACA)," health reform has changed the structural environment of health care providers, both present and future, within their professional lives -- be it at school or work-- and personal lives. Workshops and panel discussions will help students appreciate and deliberate over the new changes in the healthcare field dictated by the ACA. Through several hands-on activities and small-group interactions with learned medical professionals and peers, we hope to inspire participants to, as Gandhi once said, be the change they want to see in the world -- in politics, in the medical field, and in our collective futures.
